The Retail Game

Disclaimer

Welcome

The Retail Game has been designed as a teaching aid for students of retailing. It has been created by John Pal and Mark Stubbs of Manchester Metropolitan University's Business School.

Introduction

The game is made up of a series of decisions you have to make. Chimber is a fictional place and the company that you work for, FashCo, is also fictional. In order to design this game and to make it usable it has been necessary to simplify some of the exercises. The way that you will benefit from the tasks is by trying them and, most importantly, reflecting on the results. The tasks are shown in the task bar at the top of every page. A tick will appear when you are working on each set of grouped pages and decisions. You can go back to decisions and have another go at them by pressing the "<< Prev" button at the top left hand corner of every page. Likewise you can go forward through pages by pressing the ">> Next" button at the top right of each page. If you haven't completed a decision when requested to do so then a message box will pop-up informing you about this, and you will not be permitted to move to the next page.
